Banking has been around for centuries to encourage trade, finance, business, commerce and economic prosperity. Yet, in recent years, banking came to stand for shareholder return. And that seemed about it. Due to the singular focus on shareholder return, banks behave badly ripping off customers with unnecessary products and even falsifying account opening forms. Why has banking sunk so low and how can it reach new heights? This discussion focuses upon the new world of banking: purpose-driven, process-structured and platform-based. It's about digital banking with meaning. What does this mean for you?

Chris Skinner is known as one of the most influential people in technology. He is an independent commentator on the financial markets and fintech, through his blog theFinanser.com and author of the bestselling books Digital Bank, ValueWeb and Digital Human. He chairs the Financial Services Club and Nordic Future Innovate, is a non-executive director of 11:FS and on the advisory boards of various firms. Mr. Skinner has been an advisor to the United Nations, the White House, the World Bank and the World Economic Forum and is a visiting lecturer with Cambridge University as well as a TEDx speaker.
