As the climate crisis accelerates, new attention is focused on the accuracy of data referenced to establish baseline measurements of critical issues like GHG emissions and land use. Satellite data - often enhanced through artificial intelligence - offer new insight to improve the timeliness and accuracy of sustainability measurement, often independently of government. The webinar will introduce a few of these satellite-based approaches and show how they are being used to amplify the power of data to address the climate crisis.
Jeremy Tamanini works with partners globally on projects at the intersection of data and sustainability. He created the Global Green Economy Index™ (GGEI), currently in its 10th anniversary edition. The GGEI tracks 160 countries in terms of their green progress towards global sustainability targets. The GGEI is a widely referenced ESG index with usage in 100+ governments, institutions, and private firms.
