Background: Wealth management refers to the provision of wealth advisory services targeted at affluent individuals and families. Its main objective is structuring and planning wealth to assist in growing, preserving, and protecting wealth. One important segment of wealth management is Family Office which has been in existence in Mauritius since 2016. It offers curated financial services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) and their families. With its stable political and economic environment, Mauritius is well positioned to become the preferred destination for wealth management.

This webinar is aimed at providing an overview of the Mauritius International Financial Centre (MIFC) as a premier jurisdiction for wealth management, with emphasis given to the setting up of a Family Office. Additionally, it will present the strategic advantages, structural options, and legal & regulatory framework that position Mauritius as the destination of choice for wealth management. Additionally, the session will explore current trends in wealth management, the benefits of the Mauritius Family Office scheme and the diverse investment opportunities available within the jurisdiction.

Vinay Guddye has worked across several countries in Africa and the Middle East for Multinational Companies such as Unilever and Maersk.

With a degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, Vinay possesses a unique blend of technical and strategic expertise across multiple sectors, ranging from engineering to Quality Insurance, Marketing and Branding, Supply Chain and Logistics, to more recently, Business Development, Economic Diplomacy and currently in Financial Services.

Vinay’s multidisciplinary background enables him to bridge the needs of investors and promoters effectively. Currently, Vinay plays a key role in the diversification of products and services available through the Mauritius International Financial Centre.

Renu Audit is legally trained across jurisdictions like India, UK and Mauritius, with more than 25 years of experience in commercial, corporate and financial services regulatory environment. Over last two decades, she has gained extensive know-how of financial regulations and of business conduct in Mauritius for having worked both with regulatory agencies and private sector in Mauritius.

In her career, Mrs Audit has actively been involved in leadership roles and participated in various senior level delegations, national committees and international forums. She has actively contributed in industry initiatives, governmental taskforce, regularly spoken at conferences, and lately been actively involved in issues relating to Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Gender Diversity, and RegTech.

Nirish Beeharry is a significantly experienced Banking Director with over 20 years’ experience managing Retail Private & Wealth management business.

With expertise in business development & market expansion, Nirish also has experience in dealing with bank Mergers & Acquisitions & transfers of undertakings.

Currently the Regional Management for Carrick Wealth management, Nirish is responsible for the growth & implementation of the Carrick Catalyst Partnership business in Mauritius & Africa.

Passionate about driving change across our financial landscape Nirish also works closely with a number of Fintechs in their expansion plans to Africa through Mauritius.

Devika Bhuwanee serves as the CEO of Warwyck Phoenix Securities Ltd, the brokerage and portfolio management arm of the Warwyck Group. She is a CFA charterholder with a solid background in accounting, with her most recent achievement being the successful implementation of Warwyck's virtual asset operations.

Charles-Henry Monchau is the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Member of the Executive Committee at Bank Syz. He joined the firm in early 2021 from a Swiss digital bank, where he was CIO and Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to this, he had been CIO of Al Mal Capital (Dubai Investments), Head of the Asset Allocation Team for the EMEA region at Deutsche Bank and held various C-level positions in Geneva, Zurich, Dubai, Nassau and Paris. He has an Executive MBA from IE Business School and an MSc in Finance from HEC Geneva. He is also a CFA, CMT, CAIA and CIIA charter holder.
