The Philippines is the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN)’s second-largest nation. It is the region’s fastest growing population and its third biggest economy. It has a young labor force, a resilient financial sector, and an expanding economy growing by 7.7 percent, year on year, in the first three quarters of 2022.

In this webinar, we will hear about the latest financial sector developments in the Philippines, including the role of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines in ensuring the stability of the Philippines’ financial system, as well as the SEC’s efforts to advance financial innovations and sustainable finance in the country.

Atty Kelvin Lester K Lee is a Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines.

As Commissioner, he directly oversees key regulatory functions of the SEC, such as Markets and Securities Regulation, Sustainable Finance, IT, Fintech and International Affairs. He is a Business Columnist of The Manila Times newspaper and a Law Professor on Corporate Law and Governance. He was recently selected as a Lee Kuan Yew Senior Fellow in Public Service of the National University of Singapore and was awarded as a Philippine Blockchain Champion by the Blockchain Council of the Philippines.

Atty Lee is a frequent keynote speaker and resource person, and has spoken in over a hundred events including international events organized in South Africa, Hong Kong, Singapore and Spain, as well as conferences organized by international organizations such as the Asian Development Bank, the OECD, the World Bank and the World Economic Forum. He has also been interviewed by CNN, GMA News and other Philippine and international media channels.
