Waste Of Space: The Problem With Space Debris And The Challenges And Opportunities Associated With Solving it
Webinar

Background:

Did you know that there are 30,000 objects larger than a tennis ball circulating the Earth, most of which are space debris?  In this lecture Graham Turnock, special advisor at the European Space Agency and former head of the UK Space Agency, will talk about space junk: what is it, why is it a growing problem, how are we going to solve that problem and the new markets that are emerging associated with this.

Speaker:

Graham Turnock currently leads the ESA Accelerator programme, an initiative aimed at speeding up the adoption of space solutions to problems of sustainability on Earth and in Space.  He has over 30 years experience in public administration including almost 20 as a UK senior civil servant.  He holds a PhD in physics from Cambridge University, is a Liveryman of the Drapers’ Company, and in his spare time is a keen cyclist and Treasurer of the Youth Hostels Association.
